Read the theory. Then say or
write sentences. Use If only/I wish.
wish/If only + past simple: to express a wish for the
present. I don't have time to join the gym. If only I had
time to join the gym. I wish I had time to join the gym.
Note: We can use were instead of was after wish
and if only in all persons. I'm not tall enough to join
the basketball team. I wish/lf only I were tall enough to
join the basketball team.
1 I am not fit. If only/I wish I were fit.
2 It's too cold.
3 We don't have training today.
4 I can't go to the match
