In the Russian regions, the most popular pets are cats. 37% of respondents; 29% are outbred and 8% are purebred. Almost every third Russian has a cat.Pets are kept primarily by single people, for example, widows, widowers (80%) and single fellow citizens (77%), but the proportion of such respondents is also high among Russians. As they say most of the Russians who keep cats, they have healing powers.Some claim that cats see ghosts and various spirits.
