Jake's class is going on a trip to the zoo; tickets are 12 dollars per person. However, if the class buys tickets as a group, they get a discount and tickets become 6 dollars per person. If there are 30 kids in Jake's class, how much total money (in dollars) does the class save by buying the tickets as a group?

if they paid 12 dollars per perosn they would have to pay 30*12=360 dollars. but if they go as the group they pay half the price 30*6=180 dollars. they save up 360-180=180 dollars
