There are several problems that need the attention of the citizens and the authorities. FIRST OF ALL, it is intensive use of the river by China which may lead to serious water shortage in Kazakhstan.

The second problem is pollution of the river with industrial wastes and the rubbish that the citizens throw into the

river. AS A CONSEQUENCE, the water of the Irtysh River is getting dirtier and dirtier.
