I've got two workmates, Meg and Lucy. We've been friends for a long time. The week before the incident, I had been thinking very often about Meg. I was wondering what was wrong with her. She had been quiet the whole week! The day before yesterday she said she hadn't been feeling very well since her fiancé had seemed so confused and inattentive on the phone. I suspected there was something wrong because Tom, her fiancé, hadn't been giving her much attention after they decided to get married. Yesterday morning my husband and I arrived at the office a little too early. When I entered the building, Meg had already been at the reception. The receptionist told me she had been there since 6:30 a.m! I comforted her, but she was crying and sobbing, trying to keep saying that her fiancé had just told her over the phone that they would have to cancel their wedding because he had fallen in love with somebody else. To make a long story short, Lucy and I ended up inviting Meg to have lunch with us. Up to that moment, I hadn't thought it would be a bad idea. As a matter of fact, it was! Meg insisted on going to that restaurant! Who had she planned to meet the whole morning? Did she intend that she would see her ex-fiancé with his new girlfriend somewhere? As soon as we entered the restaurant, I saw Tom with a tall brunette at one of the tables. So, Meg probably knew she would decide to meet them there. My friend decided to confront her ex-fiancé and his girlfriend...
