Maxim Gorki (real name Aleksej Maksimovich Пешков) was born on March, 16 (28), 1868 in Nizhny Novgorod. The father of him was a cabinet-maker. In recent year life worked as to the managers a steamship office, died of cholera. A mother took place from family of petty bourgeois. Her father once went about in a barge hauler, but managed to get rich and purchased dyeing establishment. Post mortem husband the mother of Gorki soon again arranged the fate.
